School Work on the Go

Our family has lot’s of doctors appointment’s. These appointments often throw a kink in our schedule, and can make it hard to stay on tract. So what do we do when we are out and about?

I found these five pocket folders in Targets dollar section. They had them in the kids assigned colors, which was great. (Yes I color code my family) On the days that I know we will be gone to the doctor or out and about, I fill up these folders instead of the workboxes. The folders contain things like, worksheets, file folder games, books, word searches, puzzles, CD’s, and much more. They fit perfectly in their book bags. This system really helps us to still get our work completed for that day.

People are always impressed when they see my children sitting in the waiting room being productive, not destructive. This will be our first year using these great five pocket folders. Last year we used regular folders.

Great idea!! I may try this! Appointments, I tend to pull out the iphone and let the kids play a game, but now I would have my older son do some of his work~ great suggestion!
