Last week we read The Centipede’s 100 Shoes. Then we painted this picture to show Daddy what we had been reading. I have found that doing and activity along with a book is a great way to engage the kids, and they are even more interested in reading.
Items Needed
- Paint – Have your child choose his/her own colors
- Construction paper
- Paintbrush
- Water for rinsing paintbrush
Directions:
- Using the palm of your child's hand, paint a circle, and stamp the page to create the centipede’s body. Re-apply paint as necessary
- Use the end of your paintbrush to paint the legs, and the antenna
- Paint the end of your child’s pinky, and stamp it on the page to create the shoes.
