A Little Organization

Hailey and Christopher kept begging me to set up the workboxes again. We haven’t had them up since we moved in this house. I had something in my mind, and so I wasn’t going to set them up until I could get exactly what I wanted. Grandma to the rescue. She found an awesome deal on the boxes I wanted. So Hailey and I worked all week re-organizing the school room, and getting things ready to start our new schedule.

Hailey and Christopher each have 12 drawers. One rolling cart. On top of the cart they each have two bins. One bin holds finished work and books, and one bin holds regularly used items like headphones, weighted neck wrap, white board, etc.

To the right you see Liam and Sammy’s cubes. They each have three drawers, and they share the bottom four cubes. On top you see a book and puzzle holder, and a basket which holds regularly used items.

In addition to organizing the workboxes my and Hailey thought this would be a great time to organize the supply closet, that way we actually used what we have.

First we organized all of our regularly used supplies into this shoe organizer. I LOVE this set up. No more digging through boxes to find tape. It also easier for the kids to find things that they need.

Inside the closet on the left side I have Art supplies in the back set of drawers, Seasonal items in the green drawers, Preachool items in the other set of white drawers, On top of the back set of drawers I have water beads, and leapfrog book stuff. On the green drawers I temporarily have my sewing machine and a basket of stuff that goes with it. On top of the other set I have a basket that holds wooden trays, bowls and other items that I use to display the little kids work.

This shelf is in the middle I hope to get a bigger one soon. It hold puzzles, games, school books not in use, and really anything I need a place for and can’t find a place.

Sorry for the blurry pic. It is dark in this corner and I am using my phone for pics. This is the Math and Language arts manipulative shelf.

I picked up these storage bowls at the Dollar Tree. It has helped so much to have the Math items separated into their own bowls. Now I can say, “For this activity we need beads, can you go get the beads?” and the can!

That’s all we did so far, but it is helping us so much.
