Preschool Assessment

Ever since Christopher came into our lives I have been obsessed with assessments. I think it is because he was so delayed. For those who don't know, he was two years old and tested at a 12 month level. He was in speech therapy and saw a Developmental Interventionist for about 9 months. We have always introduced things in a fun way, but have made sure to introduce lots of learning opportunities, and have done Lot's of different kinds of assessments to be sure that he was catching up.

When we started homeschooling Hailey, Christopher wanted to do school also. We set him up with the work box system and kind of did Tot School with him. He has soaked up everything and is moving so fast that I can't keep up. Because the new year is about to start, and he will be four I decided to see what he knew. So I made an assessment for him. I was shocked when he knew almost everything on the list. It's really amazing to me how he started out so delayed and has surpassed expectations.

We have decided that when the new year starts and our break is over, we are going to start official preschool. I think we will primarily work on writing skills and reading skills. I am so excited and can't wait.

For those of you who are interested in the assessment I used you can download and print it by clicking on the picture.

That is a great tool. I'm printing it out to use, too. Thank you, Angela!

Excellent Assessment. Enjoy your next stage in homeschooling. We are almost there ourselves.
