Princess Training Week #2

This week in Princess Training we talked about brushing our teeth. A princess is a very social person and needs to always be able to show off those pearly whites.

We started off with this craft. I cut out teeth from construction paper. A yellow tooth and a black tooth. I then had Hailey use and old toothbrush to paint (brush) the teeth until they were white. We talked about how we need to brush every tooth really good. We also talked about how we sould bush our teeth at least three times a day. I made a sticker chart for her to use to keep track of her brushing. At the end of each week she will receive a piece of candy if the chart is filled up. You can download the chart here.

We did this great science project from Homeschoolshare.com We used eggs represent teeth and talked about how they are white, smooth, hard, and contain calcium. (just like teeth lol!) I then filled one cup with dark soda and the other with vinegar. we made predictions of what the eggs would look like after they had been in the liquids for a few hours. We let them sit and then took them out right before bed time. The vinegar represented the acids in the food that we eat and the soda represented the sugars. She was surprised to find the condition that the eggs were in. After talking about the eggs for a minute Hailey jumped off her stool and ran to her room to brush her teeth. She is to cute!

This week in school we will be completeing a Tooth Lapbook. Resourses found at Homeschoolshare.com
