Princess Training

princess

Hailey was so excited about doing Princess Training. I struggled with how I was going to set it up. Was I going to do it everyday?,once or twice a week? Eventually I decided that we would do it when it fit in with school or if we were having a really good day with extra time. This week and for the next few weeks we will focus on self care.

Deodorant- For this lesson we talked about how Princesses wear deodorant so that their arm pits don't stink. Yes i know that Hailey is only 6 but she has smelly armpits. I took her to Target and let her pick out her own deodorant. She was so excited. When we got home we talked about how and when to apply the deodorant.

Exercise- For this lesson we talked about taking care of your body. I got an exercise game for the Wii and she has been doing it with me. It was so funny because that night after Hailey put on her night gown she came out of her room and said, "Look at how much weight I have lost, when are you going to lose weight mom?"

Hand washing- As a part of self care we learned about the importance of hand washing. I made a Princess Hand washing Chart to hang on her mirror. We also learned a song for her to sing while washing her hands. (song included on chart) We used this hanwashing coloring book. We talked about germs and used paint to represent them. it work well for her to be able to see all of the paint and try to get it all off.

If you are participating I could not get Mcklinky to work this morning, so just leave your link in the comments section and when I get it to work I'll add it and your link to this post.

Just saw the question you left on my blog (and sorry I'm so late in responding- we just returned from vacation yesterday). I joined the homeschool crew by keeping an eye on this blog - http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/homeschoolcrew

Each year they will announce the search for new members to join and you are able to apply then.

This is great! Love your chart. We have something similar for the girls so they can tell me if they are really ready to go!
