Theme: Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
This was our first week of moving from Tot School type stuff to actual preschool. Christopher was so excited and could not wait to get started. He loves the workboxes. In fact my biggest problem has been getting him to stop at 9 boxes. He wants to do school activities all day. (I guess I shouldn't see this as a problem.)
We added Christopher's desk to the classroom this week and put up a Coconut Tree for his letter's of the week we will be doing. This weeks theme was focused on Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. We also focused on his name and getting used to being at a desk.
I used this Alphabet activity to test what letters he knew. I wanted to start Letter of the week with his problem letters. He would stamp the letter I called out. Much to my surprise he got them all right so we will be starting with the letters of his name.
We practiced proper crayon grip and coloring skills. I used the crayon grip song from Handwriting Without Tears along with this CCBB Color Sheet. I was pleased to see how much his coloring skills have improved over the past three weeks.
We practiced his name by mathching up the letters on the coconuts with the letters on the mat. In this activity he was also able to work on his glueing skills.
Christopher loved making this coconut tree using body parts. This was quite an acomplishment for him. He has sensory intergration delays and typically would have never allowed me to put paint on him. He was so excited about this painting that he allowed me to put paint on him as long as I washed it off immediatly. He was very proud of the finished product, and I was proud of him for letting me put paint on him.
Christopher loves to use the bingo Dot Markers.
I realy didn't think Christopher would like this activity but he did, and we did it several times this week. I simply wrote the numbers 1-5 on the envelopes and had him put the number tiles in the right envelope.
We practiced cutting skills by cutting these Coconut Tree Trunks. This was a big hit and also done daily.
In adition to these activities we worked on several worksheets from his Diego preschool workbook,Completed several Diego Floor Puzzles, watched Your Baby Can read, Read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, and completed several name recognition activities. He also enjoyed watching this video daily.
I got all of my CCBB pritables from Makeing Learning Fun

You did such a great job on this. I'm inspired! We read the book yesterday and watched the video 3 times. Now, I'm contemplating doing a tree like yours... with letters around it.
Truly, I've gotten lazy with my little guys as my older two get further into elementary. Not good!
Oh, and how did you make that cute button with the code for your blog?
Still praying about a topic for your other site. Loved your post about praying for your husband!
In Christ,
Laura
