Hailey reads really well, but we have had a hard time getting her interested in Chapter books. She is very literal, so the imagination aspect of reading these books just didn’t exist. This has also created difficulty for her in her Language Arts, and Creative writing Curriculum. Due to her needs I have taken it slowly, and not forced the issue. I was hoping she would develop interest over time. No such luck. So last week I sat her down and told her that she was just going to have to make the move from the readers to a chapter book. She pouted, but I did not give in. I found a Junie B. book for .50, so I told her she could begin by reading that.
She did It! It only took her 2 days. She LOVED it! I can’t wait to get her a few more!
