Core Curriculum:

We will be using FIAR Vol. 1 for many subjects. (History, Handwriting, Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science, Music, etc.) We will use this as an addition to out core curriculum. However, if a subject that we will cover in our core curriculum can be covered using FIAR, we will do our best to incorporate it, as I like the way things stick with Christopher when using FIAR.

This year Sammy will be 3, but will turn 4 in the middle of the school year. We will be doing 30 min. of structured “learning” time each day. Though we do have a curriculum and a plan, his learning will be child led. I will not force him to color etc. I will however, give him many learning opportunities, in a structured setting. Fun learning is the goal. I would like for him to learn to sit for story time when mommy says it’s story time, and not just when it’s his idea, and I would like for him to know, ABC’s. 1-10, Colors, Shapes, develop fine motor skills for handwriting, and Have fun! I have no doubt that he will far exceed my expectations as he is always asking for ‘school’.

(Jessie Bear What Will you Wear?, The Big Green Pocketbook, The Runaway Bunny, Katy No Pocket, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, Corduroy)

Oooh, you're using some of our favorites! We did the anatomy last year and it was one of our favorite studies ever!!!! So much fun. You guys will love it!

I started AAR pre-1 with my little one last year, we'll finish it up this coming year. I'm excited to move on. I didn't discover the company until my oldest had no need of it some I'm excited to use more of their stuff.

We're using some of the same things this year. It's always neat to read what is working for other people. Have a great year!
