What I love about preschool science is that it yields itself to the natural progression of learning.
Sammy- “Look mom, it’s a caterpiwer!!!!! My watch it”.
Me – Isn’t it cool that you can find caterpillars almost anywhere? This one probably came from that tree over there. I saw a few on it the other day.
Kids – “Let me see, pick him up, pick him up, DAD, mom can’t pick him up!!!!”
Dad – “Caterpillars love to eat leaves.”
Me – “Caterpillars turn into Butterflies.”
The older kids – “After a while they go into a cocoon and stay there for a while and when they come out they are butterflies.”
Sammy – “Let’s put him on the tree so he can turn to butterfly!!!”
And that’s how pre-school science works around here. HEE HEE.
